The enamel ring displays some areas of wear, chipping and loss to the enamel, however the design remains largely intact and bright. The edges of the band are slightly worn and rough, though the patterned edge is mainly free from wear. There are no markings to the inside of the band which is coated with a layer of turquoise enamel speckled with white.

The hardstone band displays some surface scratching and wear, with some small cracks to the stone evident. The internal gold band is rounded but displays some minor wear to the edges, it is hallmarked '9.375', Birmingham, 1970.

The plain gold band displays wear and surface scratching, with the edges of the band being rough. It was most likely enamelled which is all now lost save some traces of colour/discolouration. There is no hallmark/marking to the inner band, however it is engraved 'M.J.H'.
