The brooch is in fair condition, though does display some wear with evidence of repair work having been undertaken. There has been a repair completed in yellow metal at the centre of the diamond bow (this still displays a small crack on the top side of the setting), this is visible from both front and back. There is an area of discolouration where the diamond bow setting and jadeite meet on the right hand side which is likely from when the diamond was replaced and claws worked on, the same discolouration is also visible where the right hand diamond point meets the bow edge suggesting further repair work. There is a small crack/area of separation on the opposing side at the join of the bow edge and point. There is a yellow metal repair on the reverse where the setting of the central diamond panel joins the setting of the jade panel. It is likely that one of the diamonds has been replaced at the lower end of the central diamond panel: the reverse of the setting displays evidence of possible work. Claw work is needed throughout the piece, and there is some wear/damage to the millegrain edging in places. The left jadeite panel has broken in half and been later repaired with glue (likely superglue) which has caused staining and discolouration, the jade panel has been glued in which has seeped onto the setting and has discoloured, the outside claw of this panel is also missing. It is likely that a new pin has been fitted to the brooch, but the rollover catch appears to be original and functional. The pendant bail is present and folds away neatly, there is some wear/thinning evident.
