The Cairngorm and agate brooch is in very good, wearable condition. There is no evidence of replacement or repair to either the stones or setting, the stones seem securely set and the pin functions well. 

The butterfly brooch is in very good, wearable condition. There appears to be no obvious damage to the enamel with the colours remaining bright and crisp, the pin functions well. The hallmarks are crisp and the brooch bears the makers mark 'JA&S' with the serial number '2369'.
