The guard chain is in fairly good condition, it does display signs of wear and repair in places. There are some broken links along the length of the chain and some solder repairs. The dog clip at the end functions well and retains its orginal safety screw fitting; the clasped hand does display some wear to the plating but it rotates freely, the chain connector displays a gouge that is possibly from unskillful testing. The leaf slider shows some minor surface wear, but the design remains crisp, this also displays a gouge that is possibly from unskillful testing.
