There is evidence of surface wear and scratching throughout the piece, particularly on the back of the band, there are also some small areas of pitting. There are no signs of significant repair or resizing, and the shank does not appear to have thinned. The cartouche remains vacant, and the hallmarks are a little discoloured and illegible, but can be read '375' Sheffield (date letter indecipherable).
