The peacock feather fan is in poor condition, there are numerous losses to the feathers. The pole appears to be intact with no losses to the carving and some minor wear to the gilding.
The plastic shell hair clip is in good condition, there is no obvious splitting or cracking, the clip part functions well though the metal is discoloured. The plastic is marked 'made in France'.
The hair covered band is in fairly poor condition, there are some missing elements and loose wirework, the banding is discoloured.
The white lace covered band is in fair condition, there is some glue visible on the lace and discolouration in places, there does not appear to be any missing bead work.
The black lace covered band is in fair condition, the lace is slightly discoloured but there are no obvious holes or missing elements.
