Alfred Douglas
Hall was born on the 9th of September 1890. He enlisted aged twenty-three on
the 16th of March 1917.
Posted to
France on the 20th of June 1917, he joined the 2nd Royal Marines Battalion
Royal Naval Division on the 1st of August 1917, serving with them until he was
gassed on the 24th of February 1918.
After a period
of recovery at home, he rejoined the 2nd Bn and was sadly killed in action on
the 6th of April 1918. He is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial.
