Netherlands. Aceh or Kraton Medal (Atjeh of Kraton Medaille) 1873-1874

The Medal was instituted by King Willem III on 12 May 1874 to be awarded to military participating in the First and Second Aceh Expeditions of 1873 and 1874 against Sultan Mahmud Syah.

The Medal was made from the bronze of cannons captured from the Kraton (Palace) of Mahmud Syah.
