on a turned plinth base, 42cm high

Note: This piece is likely by Robinson and Leadbeater (R&L), the figure is unmarked but is illustrated in a R&L photographic archive dating from the late 1880s. See ‘The Illustrated Guide to Victorian Parian China’ by Charles and Dorrie Shinn, figures 113 and 114.

This figure is chipped to hip and base. He is missing the large sword he leans upon. The loss to his hip is a belt loop, that would have held an axe.
