AN 18TH CENTURY IRON BOUND CAMPHORWOOD MARITIME TRUNK
the lid inset with engraved oval plaque and enclosing shaped interior, 53cm high x 124cm wide x 53cm deep
Note: Originally designed to hold incendiary bombs, the rounded chip carved interior facilitated this function. The dovetailing to the inside corners increased strength and the ironwork kept the cargo protected.
