AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY COPPER TABLE LAMP OF ART NOUVEAU STYLE

with curved flared stem on circular base, with shade, 35cm high

Note: by repute, made by the vendor's ancestor Phil Paddon for his sister Eva whilst he was working as an apprentice for Vickers Armstrong. Phil Paddon was a founder of Paddon Brothers, a London based agent for Rolls Royce (dissolved in 2007).

Provenance: The Estate of the late John Rollo Somerset-Paddon, formerly of Chalk Newton House, Maiden Newton, Dorset, thence by descent.

This lamp has slight surface wear and the shade is slightly creased. There is a small damage to the loop that looks as through it would have held the wiring in place. 

The lamp will need rewiring by a qualified electrician before use.
