A GEORGE II MAHOGANY BOOKCASE

the upper section with a moulded cornice over glazed doors, opening to a shelved interior, the bottom breakfronted section with central panelled doors, opening to a shelved interior, flanked either side by four short drawers, on ogee bracket feet, 278cm high x 201cm wide x 61cm deep

There is a loss to the moulding at one side of the pediment, as well as a chip/small loss to the moulding at the centre of the pediment, some further knocks to the pediment. A pane to the lower left is cracked and a large pane central lower right is cracked. Split to the upper right hand side of the upper section. Some surface marks to the timber. The rear left leg is damaged and detached but present. The handles are replaced and three of the key holes are missing there brass inlay, as well as to the cupboard door. Some surface marks and scratches to the top of the surface and wear also apparent around the feet. An old repair to one leg and further small losses to feet. Wear to the inside of the breakfront wear the drawers rub the veneer.
