Provenance: Wootton Lodge, Staffordshire, and thence by descent through the family. It is believed this court cupboard is referenced in the country life article featuring Wootton lodge; Country Life Vol XXVII, No 703.

There has been some debate as to the age of the cupboard, it is likely that the majority is 19th century however there are certainly later elements, such as the pediment, that are late 20th century, however also it has been suggested some incoroporated panels may be 17th century.

The back right foot it detached but present. There is a loss to the upper left hand side. There is evidence of worm. Some visible surface wear and scratching, largely consistent with age and use. Restoration apparent to back left let. Splits to panels at the lower side, however not detrimental to function or particularly visible. A split to the panel at right hand front and small damage. Wear concentrated around doors and moving hinges.
