the wooden stock is stamped '7 1882', showing this was probably issued in 1882, the lock plate is stamped with the Victorian Crown and 'Enfiled 1877 I.C.I.', the barrel has all the appropriate proof marks, the gun can be dry-fired and is an obsolete calibre .577/450, a rare gun, being one of the first batch produced, the near sight has a leather protector in place, in very good condition, with some expected marks to the wood and light pitting to the metal, the gun has been oiled and looked after
