probably 17th century, with sharply tapering blade of flattened section, with encrusted foliate engraved hilt with silver inlays of stylised flowers and foliage, double shell-guard, lobed rear quillon, globular pommel with button, wooden diagonally fluted grip bound with twisted steel wire, and retaining traces of original parcel gilding, 82cm blade
