Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

In historic country house condition consistent with age and the materials employed.

The veneered surface with a warm honey colour and a rich patination. The handles and escutcheons apparently original. Some losses to the mouldings and veneers. The feet with evidence of some repair. Some damage to the carcass and veneer immediately above the central escutcheon on the top drawer. The red material covering the writing surface on the interior is probably original but with extensive losses and ink staining. There is some evidence of water staining to the drawer fronts. In overall terms this bureau is a good example in an excellent state of preservation.
