A DUTCH DELFT BLUE AND WHITE VASE

17th/18th century, of faceted baluster form decorated in the Ming style with figures in a landscape, the associated lid with a lion finial, 33cm high; and three other tin glazed earthenware vases, two with associated lids (7 including the lids)

All have surface scratches and losses to the glaze and enamels.


On the first there are chips to the lion dog on the ears, nose and tail. There is fritting to the edges and lip of the lid.

There are chips to the lip of the vase itself.

There is a large hairline crack down one decorated panel that goes halfway down the vase.

 

On the second the finial has been reattached. There is fritting and chips to the enamels.

There is a missing section to the lip of the vase and fritting to the neck.

There is a small hairline crack to the neck of the vase which is apparent to the outside.

 

On the third the finial is chipped in several places and there has probably been repainting.

There is discolouration where the glue has been applied.

There are three large chips to the lip of the vase and a hairline crack to the neck. There is fritting to the foot.

 

On the fourth there is general fritting and loss of enamels.
