A CONTINENTAL BRASS AND "DELFTWARE" CHANDELIER

with two registers of four scrolling branches, with a simple suspension loop, fitted for electricity, 58cm high x 60cm diameter

Provenance: According to family records this chandelier was purchased by Sir Christopher Medlycott from a dealer in Rouen, Normandy, circa 1925. It was at about this time that Sandford Orcas Manor was being wired for electricity.

To be removed at the Buyer’s risk and expense.

This has clearly been electrified and the wires have been pinned externally to the frame and arms.

The is general discolouration to the delftware, and some cracks especially to one ‘gourd’.
