Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

The bedspread is in good country house condition and is rectangular in shape.

The backing is a replacement. The background to the bedspread appears to be a fine linen.

The edges are worn and it has uneven hems in places.

There are marks where the embroiderer outlined the design and decided not to complete or incorporate into the design.

There is general discolouration and fading especially to the central panel but the design is stable and not affected.

It is unlikely to be a later collection of textiles appliqued as the design/theme is carried throughout the the piece.
