Mrs Coles:

In attractive country house condition with very minor paint loss visible above the sitter's head and to her left (very minor flaking). The canvas is loosely mounted on a board and there is "rippling" associated with this. The original frame is in attractive country house condition but would benefit from some reviving.

Rev. George Hutchings:

In good country house condition with some minor retouching apparent on the sitter's face visible under a UV lamp. The canvas is loosely mounted on a board, but is generally sitting reasonably flat. Apparently retaining the original beaded giltwood frame which is in good country house condition with damage consistent with age.
