AN ENGLISH TRIANGULAR STAINED GLASS PANEL

probably West of England, 15th century, painted with a chalice with the Host radiating beams of light, the background with scrolls in yellow and clear glass and enclosed by a yellow border, 25cm x 18.5cm; and a Flemish oval stained glass panel of the Crucifixion, 16th century, 24cm x 19.5cm (2)

Provenance: The English panel of stained glass in this lot is believed to have come from Bishops Caundle Church but there is no documentary evidence to support this.

These have been re-leaded.

The chalice panel has cracks, repairs and scratches commensurate with age. In addition one small area has been replaced with plain transparent glass. It has several repaired cracks, including one from the top of the vessel to the centre.

The crucifixion panel has scratches and repairs throughout including one from the top of the cross to the ground beneath the figures.
