The Carterhaugh Ba' game "The Fir and the Heather or The Souter and Shepherd", dated December 17th 1815, 7 line prose introduction and 61 lines of poetry, signed 'A Water', commencing "The following verses were suggested by hearing of certain animosities which had taken place between the parties concerned in the late grand Football Match, played at Carterhaugh; and concluding by proposing a reconciliation.
