AN OAK AND APPLEWOOD BANDED LANCASHIRE CHEST

mid 18th century, the hinged top opening to a vacant interior fronted by two faux drawers, a series of three short and one long drawer beneath, reeded columns to the sides and a wavy apron to the base, on shaped bracket feet, 88cm high x 148cm wide x 53cm deep

The chest has a good overall appearance however there are a number of alterations to note. The escutcheons and handles have been replaced, some of the handles are missing there swinging element. There have been restorations to the feet. The bottom drawer is missing half its base. There is some evidence of old worm, however minimal. Some surface wear commensurate to age and use. A good rich colour with only slight fading. Slightly warped to the top.
