A SAPPHIRE, PEARL AND DIAMOND RING

in 14ct and 18ct gold, designed as an openwork lyre motif, set with a cushion cut sapphire of c.0.75 carats, an old cut diamond held in a bezel setting and a pearl of c.5.2mm, accented by three seed pearl set to the top, no assay marks, UK size K / Eu size 50, (gross weight - c.4.2g)

The ring is in overall good condition with no signs of heavy damage. The sapphire has some light abrasions to the crown facet edges. The colour is good, exhibiting a royal blue with good life. Some colour zoning visible under close inspection. Secure in its setting. The principal pearl is in overall good condition. Not tested. One small spot of abrasion to the top layer of nacre to the top of the pearl. Secure in its setting. The diamond is in good condition with no signs of chips or abrasions. Secure in its setting. One of the three seed pearls has some wear to the nacre. Pin exposed. Others in good condition and all secure in their settings. The ring has been re-shanked at some point with an 18ct gold band. Head tests as 14ct gold.
