The brooch is in good condition with no signs of damage, heavy wear or repair. The opal is in good condition with no signs of chips, cracks or heavy abrasions. The opal has a good play of colour, exhibiting greens, blues, oranges and yellows over a whitish base. Held securely in its setting. The rubies and diamonds are all present and secure in their settings. Some light scratches to the gold throughout commensurate with age. The pin clasp functions well.
