Overall good condition for its age with no signs of damage, heavy wear or repair. The opal is in good condition with no signs of chips or heavy abrasions. The opal has a good play of colour, exhibiting yellows, oranges, greens and some violets over a whitish base. Secure in its setting. The pearls are all present and secure in their settings. One pearl to the one of the ends seems to be doubled and held in with glue. Glue residue visible under close inspection. One pearl has wear to the top layer of nacre, commensurate with age. Slight variation in colour. Light scratches to the gold throughout but no signs of heavy wear.
