A GROUP OF FIVE H & R DANIEL SUTHERLAND SHAPE CUPS AND SAUCERS

including four teacups in pattern 7734, pattern 8397 and two in pattern 7648, together with one coffee cup in pattern D453, all with white grounds variously decorated with gilt foliate banding, the tallest coffee cup 9.5cm high

Provenance: The Beardmore Collection, nos. 2241, 2000, 1724 and 2162.
One bearing an old J & J Simpson Collection label and marked ‘For Seminar’.

Pattern D453: the saucer appears ok, the cup is slightly chipped to the base. 

Pattern 7734: the teacup appears ok, the saucer has firing faults but is otherwise ok.

Pattern 7648: one teacup appears ok, the other has a firing crack to the handle, one saucer appears ok, one is chipped and has a resulting crack, and another chip to the foot.

Pattern 8397: the teacup has hairline cracks to the body, the saucer appears ok.

There is some wear to the decoration and gilt throughout.
