A DUTCH WALNUT AND INLAID MARQUETRY DRESSING TABLE

19th century, of curvaceous outline decorated with a profusion of flowers and foliage, the oval swing mirror flanked by three small drawers either side and a central frieze drawer, with a small central drawer beneath, supported by baluster legs on a shaped platform and terminating on block feet, 162cm high x 122cm wide x 52cm deep

Provenance: The Estate of Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904), thence by descent.

There are splits to the mirror border. Some discolouration, small splits/losses, areas of slight warping to the marquetry throughout. Short drawer handles replaced. Repairs to the supports. A few further chips/losses to the veneer in areas of dryness towards the base. Evidence of old worm.
