A GILTWOOD AND COMPOSITION OVERMANTEL MIRROR

19th century, the large domed plate within a moulded border decorated with flowers and ribbons, the cresting centred by a shell motif and embellished with scrolling acanthus leaves, 183cm high x 162cm wide

Provenance: The Estate of Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904), thence by descent.

Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

There are a number of small damages to the moulding and cresting and some chips and losses to the gilding throughout. It appears the cresting is likely missing a central element. 

The plate and the gilding seem original and unrestored.
