painted in shades of aubergine, green and blue on a white ground, 20.4cm x 20.4cm, in a wooden frame on bracket feet, 21.5cm x 21.5cm x 4.5cm overall



Provenance: Purchased from William De Morgan by Arthur James Balfour, Earl of Balfour (1848-1930), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1902 to 1905.

Losses to one corner and some further chips to edges. Wooden frame with some damages and repairs. The tile is held in the frame so the back cannot be accessed. Crazing throughout. Small firing faults/marks apparent.
