Note: Jacob was a pupil of Eugène Claude. He was noted for his effects evoking the light of dawn and dusk. From 1899, he exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a member in 1902. He received an honourable mention in 1908, a gold medal hors concours in 1914 and a gold medal at the Exposition Internationale in 1937. He exhibited there until 1950. He also showed at the Salon d’Hiver, the Salon des Aquarellistes, as well as in private galleries
