A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN BOWLS

20th century, each bearing six character seal marks to the base, decorated with a processional scene of figures and beasts, 5.5cm high x 11.8cm wide; together with another similar bowl, 5cm high; and a dish, 13.5cm wide (4)

Provenance: Thomas Child (1841 – 1898) was a pioneering photographer who produced a large body of photographs during his time in Beijing during the 1870’s. He was close to the Emperor and the court. The family believe a number of objects were gifts from the Imperial family.

One of the pair of bowls has two hairline cracks, the other is largely ok. Some wear to decoration and foot however minimal. The small plate has a hairline crack to the rim. The other small bowl is ok with wear to rim and foot rim.
