A CHINESE "IMPERIAL" BLUE SILK ROBE

with eight roundels worked in coloured silks and gilt thread with five-clawed dragons contesting flaming pearls amidst cloud-scrolls, the lower border with colourful stripes, branches of blossom, wave-scrolls, cloud-scrolls and branches of peach sprouting from stylised rockwork inhabited by bats, 132cm long

Some of the seams are becoming unstitched and others have been restitched. Light staining around the back of the neck and other patches where the silk has frayed particularly on the right shoulder. Wear particularly to the fasteners and two loops in particular are frayed completely. Some loose threads from the panels. Marked to the lining, and the pocked is detached at one side. Otherwise, the garment is in ok condition in view of its age and the nature of the material.
