in silver on 9ct gold, the abdomen set with a pear-cut emerald, an oval-cut ruby and an opal, the wings set throughout with turquoise cabochons, split pearls and rose-cut diamonds, accented by ruby and garnet cabochons and two further opals, secured with a pin clasp and safety chain, c.7.9cm, (c.15.6g)

The brooch is in overall good condition. The stones are all present and in good condition. The emerald has some light abrasions to the top facet edges. The ruby cabochons are in good condition with no signs of chips or abrasions. The garnets are all in good condition with no signs of chips or abrasions. The opals have a whiteish appearance with some play of colour. All rose cut diamonds are present and secure in their settings. There are a few spots of repair to the reverse. Solder marks to the edges of the body to wings. The clasp is removeable and tightens at 45 degrees rather than parallel with the wings. The safety chain is present and in good condition. Most likely added later. Light scratches to the gold throughout. Some tarnish to the silver, commensurate with age,
