A JADE AND SAPPHIRE BROOCH

in silver, set with articulated links set throughout with pink and purple sapphire cabochons, to a principal cushion-cut purple sapphire, suspending a further cluster of oval-cut purple sapphires and sapphire cabochons, accented throughout with turquoise cabochons and beaded detailing, the sapphires all totalling c.16.00 carats, suspending a large carved lavender jade pendant of c.5.0cm, secured with two pin clasps, c.13.3cm, (c.37.5g)

 The brooch is in good condition with no signs of damage or heavy wear. The sapphires are all present and in good condition with no signs of chips or abrasions. They all slightly vary in colour. The articulations are in good condition with no signs of heavy stretching. The lavender jade is in good condition with no signs of treatment under UV. Some light tarnish to the silver to the reverse. Some of the clasp fittings appear to have been added later. We estimate the piece to be from between 1910-1940.
