The ref. 1004 Superocean was Breitling’s first-ever dive watch and one of the most scarce Breitling references ever. The 1004 featured a highly irregular design with a highly domed acrylic crystal and concave bezel, elongated dagger indices, and 38mm very thin case. It is lesser known and seen than its contemporary peers: the Submariner, Fifty Fathoms, Deeps Sea, etc., but took its rightful place amongst those early forerunners. It is thought that fewer than 20 examples survive today.
