with key wind movement, the gold dial with black Roman numerals and dark blue steel hands, with floral engraved decoration to the front and back of the case, the inside case back with inscription "Presented by Mr and Mrs Read, Forston House, Oxford to Master Edward Smith as a partial token of their gratitude to him for having plunged fully clad into the Thames and rescued their son George from an untimely death on 17th August 1850", c.45mm diam., (c.44.78g total weight);
