mounted in a glazed display case with inscription "These 18 copper coins may very probably be regarded as a souvenir handful from the hoard of over 7,000 such pieces found at Smalley Bite Farm, Nr. Wakefield in October 1905. The hoard must represent the savings of a private individual who buried the coins for safety soon after 354AD (the date of the latest issue) and was then prevented from recovering them. These Roman coins were kindly loaned for display by F.S. Marshall, Esq. M.A. LL.B.
