worded '...in token of sincere esteem and regard in acknowledgement of services from the foundation in 1817 to 1833...' with finely cast fearsome fish twin handles, the lower body leaf capped, the conforming circular base with emblem of the Walton & Cotton Club and dated March 1833, 30cm high, 58tr. ozs, with later ebonised stand

Provenance: by direct family descent and sold together with a letter from Martins Bank Limited, 68 Lombard Street, dated 7th August 1928, addressed to L. Bland Esq containing detailed provenance information.

Note: The Walton & Cotton Club instituted 19th March 1817 at the Freemason's Tavern, London, with Michael Bland being appointed the first Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

This lot is in good condition commensurate with age with minor dents, scratches and rubs.

There has been a knock at some time to the piece where the bottom has been dented. Resulting in the cup tilting to one side
