A PAIR OF BRONZED METAL MODELS AFTER THE WARWICK VASE
19th/20th century, modelled traditionally with applied masks and vines, on square pedestal bases, 13cm high x 18cm wide (2)
Note: The ‘Warwick Vase’ is a Roman marble vase that was discovered by Gavin Hamilton in the grounds of Hadrian's Villa, Tivoli, in around 1771. The vase gains its name as it was originally displayed at Warwick Castle, then owned by George Greville, 2nd Earl of Warwick and Hamilton’s nephew. It now resides in The Burrell Collection, Glasgow, Scotland.
