The chairs are in very good condition considering age. There are some small cracks visible in some of the joinery, as well as small splits to some sections of the wood - these flaws are to be expected with age. One chair has larger cracks and additional wooden reinforcements. A few of the chairs have metal brackets hidden to the underside. One chair has newer rails to the underside and may possibly be a later copy.
