Provenance: By repute this work was gifted to a Mrs Knight, the wife of the farmer at Middlebere, by the artist and his wife, Beatrice, who lived in a cottage adjoining Middlebere Farmhouse

Note: Today, Middlebere Farmhouse, on the edge of RSPB Arne Reserve, with its wealth of rare bird life, belongs to the National Trust and is available for holiday rentals

The work appears to be in untouched condition, I don't think it has ever had any restoration done to it. It does therefore have the expected signs of age and wear such a cracking of the paint surface and looks like it has had nicotine exposure over the years. But it does not have any signs of any major damages. I do believe the frame is probably original to the work.
