probably Han dynasty, carved and pierced in the form of a stylised figure, finely incised with details to the face, limbs and body, 5.6cm high x 3cm wide, in a fitted wooden box

Provenance: An English private collection.
Acquired in Tokyo in the 1990's by the grandfather of the present owner, and thence by descent.

Overall in fair condition, without major damages or restorations. Worn throughout. The incised decoration is rubbed. Small chips to the foot. The edges are worn down.
