late Qing dynasty, woven with phoenix in flight, insects and an abundance of flowers, with contrasting borders and sleeves, 105cm long
Provenance: By family repute this robe was given to the the vendor's ancestor, an officer in the Royal Engineers. It was gifted by an elderly gentleman in Singapore for having saved the lives of his family during the end of World War II. Thence by descent.
