A MINTON PARIAN FIGURE OF 'DOROTHEA'

after the statue by John Bell, stamped to the base, the female figure disguised as a young man, 35cm high; together with a similar figure of 'Miranda', also after John Bell, stamped to the base, 40cm high (2)

Note: The statuette of Dorothea is based upon the character from Don Quixote. A comparable figure can be found in the Victoria and Albert museum, accession number 2788-1901. Miranda was the daughter of Prospero in William Shakespeare's Tempest. The model can similarly be found at CIRC.694-1964.

The figure of miranda is cracked and restored to the base just above the shell. There are scratches, discolouration and minute nicks (such as to the edges of her clothing and the edges of the shell)

Dorothea is largely ok, with some chips to the base and small nicks to her clothing
