19th century, with gilt braid edging, the lid with a star finial formed of sequins, 10cm high x 21xm wide x 14cm deep, containing three similar drawstring bags for gold leaf, frankincense and myrrh, with some contents

Provenance: The gift of Dr Charles Ogilvie (1793-1873), then by family descent to the present vendor, with handwritten explanatory note.
