Note: Mirables is an English Country house situated on the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It was built by George Arnold (1753-1806), of Ashby Lodge, Northamptonshire and passed to his son George Henry Arnold (1791-1844) and then G.H. Arnold's daughter Georgeana Arnold (1817-1849) and son-in-law James Coape (c.1815-1889). James and Georgeana's three children Henry Fraser James Coape-Arnold (1846-1923), Julia Henrietta Mary Coape (1847-1925) and Charlotte Claudine Georgiana Coape (1849-1920) are the sitters for the work offered here.
