It was built by George Arnold (1753-1806), of Ashby Lodge, Northamptonshire and passed to his son George Henry Arnold (1791-1844) and then G.H. Arnold's daughter Georgeana Arnold (1817-1849) and son-in-law James Coape (c.1815-1889).
