A BURMA NO HEAT SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND CLUSTER RING

in platinum, set with an oval cut Burmese sapphire of c.0.80 carats, held in a bezel setting, surrounded by a concentric border of old mine cut diamonds, totalling c.1.4-1.6 carats, no assay marks, size P1/2 / 57, (c.7.8g), accompanied by a GIA report stating that the sapphire is of Burma (Myanmar) origin with no indications of heat treatment

The head measures c.16.0x18.0mm. The diamonds measure c.2.5mm to the inner border, c.1.8mm to the outer border and c.2.8mm to the shoulders, graduating down to c.2.0mm. The diamonds are estimated to be G-I colour and VS/Si clarity. The ring is in good condition with no signs of damage, wear or repair. The sapphire is in good condition with no signs of chips. There are a couple of small abrasions to facet junctions. The sapphire exhibits an excellent blue hue and saturation of colour with bright flashes of royal blue. Some natural zoning visible on flat lamp. The platinum has no signs of light scratches throughout, commensurate with age.
