A FRENCH KINGWOOD BUREAU PLAT

19th century, with lacquered, gilded and scrolled brass mounts, the sides inlaid with floral marquetry, the shaped top inset with tooled green leather, fitted with three frieze drawers to one side and three dummy drawers the other, on cabriole legs with scrolled sabot, bears label to the underside for 'W & J Wright's Oak and Marquitiere Warehouses, Soho, 81cm high x 192cm wide x 97cm deep

Note: W & J Wright imported furniture from France during the 19th century selling from their warehouses in Soho.

One sabot loose but present. Some small damages to mounts. Veneer chipping and cracks throughout, including losses to the front of one drawer and cracking to corners of the top. Some fading and discolouration to timber and mounts. Wear concentrated around the feet and legs. Wide brass border loose at one section. Leather is a later replacement, largely good, small scratches evident.
